Il Macchione continues to impress

Il Macchione in the Montepulciano region continues to impress Romulus Wine Selectors. Chief wine maker, Simone, lives, breathes and unsurprisingly enjoys his fine wines. Simone ages his wines for a lot longer than is required by the DOCG (Denomination of Origin Control Guarantee). The winery produces one of our prized wines, Nobile di Montipulciano SiLeo of which we are pleased to announce we have added the 2010 vintage to our collection. SiLeo is kept in barrels for 50 months before 12 months in the bottle. Simone’s unquestioned passion and drive resonates with us.

His motto is 'as long as it takes'

Macchione Wines

2012 Nobile is a full bodied wine with capsicum spice and tannins. This wine will age well but is very good now.

2010 Riserva is priced very well for a seven year old wine.It is elegant with fine tannins and great fruit.

2010 SiLeo is the best of the best and a superb wine. Although pricey it is still great value for the discerning palate with many layers and great complexity.
